Just walked down to the end of my road and a motorbike has gone straight into the front of a mondeo, he must have been doin atleast 50mph. I didnt see it but :eek: the state of both vehicles. I know crashes happen all the time and iv been in 1 myself but when it happens at the very end of your road it makes you think it could have been me.

 

The biker didnt look too good just lying there on the pavement with 1 of his boots 50 yards down the road :( .

 

Im sure itl be in the crosby herald tomorow but my sympathies go out for all involved.

It looks like it was the bikers fault but my god i would wish it on anybody.

It has now been 1 year, 1 month and some days since my accident in which a MONDEO pulled into my lane without looking.

 

I wish all car drivers , whether the have allready passed there test or just about to SHOULD be put on a 50cc scooter for a week, and then we'll see who looks out for bikers.

Your right there mate, I have the utmost respect for bikers. car drivers would learn abit.

Ditto my grandad, nan, dad and two uncles have all had bikes at one stage. 1 of my uncles ended up under the front of a car and broke his leg in 3 places, the other 1 had an incident with a lorry a few weeks back, my grandad and nan both came off resulting in broken knee caps and ancles all round. All due to idiots who dont look out for bikes.

 

If the biker is being an idiot like the crash today, it looks like he overtook a car without looking and just went straight into the front of the mondeo and then straight into the windscreen. Im not saying id wish it upon anyone but he must have been doing atleast 50 in a 30, not looking and bam. Its truly awfull as there was blood on the windscreen and road. Hopefully he will pull through but i hate to say if im right in thinking thats what has happened then it was his own fault.

Hell yes. This should be Law. A few years ago someone pulled out on me when I was on my brand new R6. Didn't see me she said. Broad daylight sunny day. Since then I've lost my bottle. Essentially, that crash really screwed up my love of bikes :cry:

Thats the thing, iv always loved bikes but after hearing all the stories and seeing the results of people in cars "not seeing" the biker it has put me right off.

 

I mean iv only been driving around two weeks now so im sure iv got loads more to come yet. But just cruising down some roads happily at 30, checking in the mirror to see a car behind you, then the next thing think you know a bike flies right past you at 70 or 80. Its worrying to be honest cos 1 minute their not there then the next second they are.

Ditto Rich- only it was a bloody Royal mail van - he was parked illegally and just drove straight into me without looking or indicating. Wrote of my beautiful ZX9 and nearly killed me, had it not been for a very alert driver coming the other way. Not even an apology. Thing that really p*sses me off is that I was reprimanded by the police for having a race can a few weeks before and so i took it off. Had I left it on the ignorant f*cker would have heard me even if he hadn't looked. If I ever get another one, and I think I will, I don't care about the legal implications, they can fine me as much as they like - I'm having a race can whatever. I'd rather be out of pocket than dead.

I know exactly how you feel, that's why I'm "x-biker". I had at least 7 near fatal incidents and numerous other knocks, and I just couldn't balance the enjoyment I got from riding with how often I ended up in hospital through no fault of my own! :(

bikes are too dangerous -especially considering all the mad car drivers around !

 

I gave away my bicycle because I don't want to ride a bike nemore - the roads are too dangerous IMHO.

Complete lack of concern for motorbike & bikes on the road by car users drives me barmy & I have never driven a motorbike in me life, simply due to the danger factor.

 

I have driven considerably in Greece where there are tons of scooters & bikes so maybe thats why.

 

But it drives me bananas when I see some tosspot deliberatly moving over the white line in the middle of a dual carriage way to stop a motorbike getting thru. why can't these muppets be more aware of their fellow road users and just face the fact that the bike is 1. quicker than them 2. smaller & able to navigate traffic jams.

 

When ever a bike is behind me on a country road I always hug the side & indicate as soon as its safe for them to overtake & I'm no slouch on the back roads, i'm just not stupid enough to endanger a bikers life :)
