how is the car running?

have you done an ECU diagnostic to see if any fault codes are stored?

The car seems to run fine only done about 100 miles in it. Its a bit lumpy when cold & sometimes cuts out @ traffic lights like the tick over needs turning up I just didnt want to drive it with the light on cheers for your help Dale

This can sometimes be down to a faulty coil connector - the plug fails to fire & the unburnt fuel catches light in the cat, causing the overheat light to come on.

Thanks for your help I will ring awesome imports were I bought the car thanks again Dale

Mine is de-catted but the two sensors are tucked away underneath and this light sometimes comes on when they detect the heat from the exhaust! :-). Might be worth checking to see if you do have cats.
