I had my car serviced recently and I asked for it to be tuned on the rolling road. Problem is that my car is an auto, every time the mechanic tried to add resisance to the rolling road, the cheeky little bitch would kick down and try to jump out of the rolling road. i know it's a standard car with a standard ecu but can it be tuned up and adjusted or would i be wasting my time? :hyper:

If it is possible where is the best place to go?

Either put the hold button on or or put the stick into 3rd.

Surely the person who was doing the RR would have put it in 3rd.

how do you put it in third?

steve

I have never driven a Auto 300ZX but every auto I have driven the gear selections are,

D, P, L, 2, 3, N, R

Drive, Park, Low (1st), 2nd, 3rd, Neutral, Reverse

Not in that order.

Hasnt the 300ZX got that? If so put the stick to the 3.

Third? how do i get that? i have 1, 2 and D no 3rd on selector. also hold button? i have o/d? is that it?

o/d is overdive

yours must be an import uk ones dont even have hold

i had the same with mine kick down and spin

steve

no have been told it's uk spec as not a fairlady, i know o/d is overdrive just thought someone might call it something else..... i feel really stupid as know lots about cars but not a lot about this monster....

are the seat belts mounted on the doors or the floor?

steve

No idea. I dont drive an auto.

It may have something to do with the over drive.

the belts are mounted on the floor.

i must be wrong about the hold button sorry mate

steve

don't be sorry, i am still pissed about the concrete block through the windscreen on friday night so i may seem a little short....

i havnt seen any uk autos with a hold button

yours must be rare

or im blind

steve

i don't have a hold button.... it was srrae that said about hold button.... that's why i was lost 2.....

i see now you said also hold button? i thought you had one

never mind uk rules anyway

steve

LOL only Ryans auto has a 3rd

Tell the operator to either do it in 2nd, or press overdrive and take it up to high enough speed to keep it from kicking to 2nd, then it'll stay in 3rd.

Pete

Is it not a case of gently getting the rr speed up past the point of where it can still kick down to second? obviously keeping the OD off so it does'nt get past 3rd which is straight through the box. Maximum power should be around 120 ish mph this way and 6000rpm. Obviously its been done before. How do they do it?

Also with a stock ecu car all you can adjust is the base timing advance angle and tune for max power before detonation on whatever fuel you use.

thanks, so basically a waste of time until a non stock ecu is fitted....
