ive noticed if ive had a good run, pull up at some lights i can smell a really wiffy fuel smell!

is this normal.I know u get it to some extent but it is quite bad, couid it be the z is running to rich or,do i just put up with it,

Ive checked the fuel lines there fine, going to get some braided ones a.way!I think the heat that comes of these cars is unbelievable, and probably emphasizes the fuel smell.any of you have this problem :)

to clarify the situation, there should be NO fuel smell, if there is then you have a leak which could potentially lead to a fire, carry a fire extinguisher ;)

mine used to stink as well

couldnt see it leaking anywhere

put smiths fuel line kit on

no more fumes

is it common for fuel to be running rich from the zorst, and can it be checked easiley,or am i talking shite

Had the same problem and changing the PCV valves sorted it for me and reduced the amount of smoke coming from the exhaust considerably.

is it straight-forward enough to change pcv valves as mine smokes a bit on start up

My car started to develop a petrol odour that was noticeable at the traffic lights, although no visible signs of leaks existied. I changed all the hoses for stainless steel braided ones (also gets rid of the solid piece), dont forget the small ones (usually the cause of the leaks) that are harder to get at.

All petrol smell dissapeard once I change all of them. :)

going to take all of your helpful advice, and get some steel hoses, wanted to a.way 2 add a bit of bling and more importantly safety

Are you sure its not the petrol tank leaking. Do you get a hissing sound when you take the petrol cap off? You should do. If you dont the pressure is leaking and will also cause petrol fumes to leak too.

yep i get a hissing sound everytime i fill up :)

If the fuel smell is definitely from the back, check the fuel filler neck to the tank. Mine has recently become porous (rusty!). Just filling the tank half full prevents the smell on mine until I replace the filler neck. Did try sealing it but to no avail.
