Just got my insurance renewal in today. Fully comp, legal cover, breakdown cover, 4000miles limited a year, car not garaged but parked up the drive ,no mention of a thatcham or otherwise, it is a classic and collectors policy, one named driver only,,, £247 !!!

Bearing in mind its only used as a second car and I am rather old (ish)

That doesnt sound too bad !!

Unless any one can beat it ?? If so let me know, coz I have been with this company for a few years now and it might be worth shopping around.

Ibran,

Tel:01582 867763

Good luck,

Justin

Justin,

Houghtons quoted me 500 recently for my 300, 36 yrs old, full no claims, SP30, cat 1 alarm, protected, 6000 miles a year......with a big bore i am getting fitted soon so i might be changing to them.

I see quite a difference in quotes but i think locality has quite a big reflection of the quote and my postcode is quite close to the local Beiruit postcode.

John,

I have noticed in a few other posts that Houghtons do seem to prefer insuring people south of the border, would be interesting to know why though.

Guys,

The insurance company I am with is.

DIAMOND INSURANCE CONSULTANTS,

SPRINGWELL HOUSE,

TRING,HERTFORDSHIRE,

HP23 4BB

Tel; 01442 825481

Proprietor is Mrs Diane Malone Dip CII.

They do various means of payment, ie credit card, switch over several months or whatever. I was put in touch with them for insuring my yanks by the AAC UK. I was paying £211 for a V8, 5.7ltr Camaro IROC !!

For a limited mileage policy they require a copy of the mot when commencing the policy, which is pretty standard. If you go for an agreed value they also require good quality photographs from the front, rear and both sides.

thanks justin i will give em a call but if they prefer ppl from south that could b a prob. coz i m a yorkshire man

Justin i dont think its just Houghtons, for some reason i think most insurance companies give higher quotes for in scotland, I have heard of people usung Tesco's, Direct Line, I cant get any quotes under like a grand from them.

Cheers John Crisp

Just done mine, went with Houghtons..

London address with no garage, but off street parking. 5,000 miles and agreed value,

cat 1 alarm, body kit and zorst and inport, for less than £450.
