import here :D

as for clocking them, you ever tried to clock one of these? you would have to mash up the milometer something stupid to be able to spin the numbers round. And before you ask, I was trying to adjust a new set of clocks to read the correct mileage, ask john dixon :)

You're obviously a bit ham fisted Clarkey, I didn't have a problem resetting mine when I changed from KMs to Miles, and yes all the numbers line up nicely.

Jap all the way Baby

import here :D

There is a write up on TT.net on how to clock it. It is very easy to do and you well never know because the numbers dont go out of sync.

UK here with 168,500 miles and having its first rebuild. :D

I wanted a UK because I would get history with the car and I can check the car's history with HPi reports. You cant do that with a Jap import.

I also find it interesting that most of the people who keep having serious problems with their Z own imports.

I reckon, that about 30 to 35% of the ones on the uk roads are uk ones and about 65 to 70% imports.

My belief is that cos the zed was so expensive over here when new they were mainly bought by flash gits and company directors, who either thrashed them to destruction or crashed them, doubtless some were looked after better than that and they are the ones that you see on the roads today.

Wheras the jap ones were alot more affordable, but still not cheap to your average jap,therefor were looked after a bit better that added to the fact that they dont do as many miles as us brits, thus more have survived. Plus i bet there were alot more zeds sold in jap land than the uk.

Probably b0llocks but thats my theory.

Mine j spec by the way, (and so was my old one!)

A good theory, indeed b19rks. I just read my "300ZX enthusiast's companion" and when first sold the UK price was £34000 but only £17500 in Japan :eek:

The UK cars were also sold in fewer numbers to remain exclusive. According to the Jap Performance buyers guide the other year there are more imports registered at DVLA than original UK ones.

The rust problem for UK cars is down to the salt on our roads in winter, so a non-rusty UK car (and there are still some well-kept examples) will rust no more than an import if subjected to the same use from now on. So if it's not rusty, top up the underseal......

Richard :)

PS......

Mines a UK car with no rust, just done 70k miles with full history :cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

if you purchased a new 300 tt in the UK when they were launched you got a free high performance driving course with ex grand prix driver Peter Gethin (who! i,m too young to remember him)

how many UK ones were sold in Britain ?

Uk one here!

As for the reason they all have about 38,000 on the clock is because the cars over in Japan are cheaper to buy but more expensive to get MOT'd out there that's why they change cars more frequently. as the manufacturers warranty has run out and they charge the earth over there.....

Manual UK Spec here.

We've 2 imports, 1990 & 1991, both have no rust at all!!
