Rear speaker amp

Mine has a recent new stereo fitted but the rear speakers fitted were crap with gaps around them - obviously not original. I just fitted some decent 7X5s at the back and spotted the stock rear speaker amplifier. This had been bypassed. Anybody know if its worth using it or chucking out to save weight? -Also what output does it have?

I just done all the wiring on my stero last week and tryed using the stereo's output (4x40w) and it sounded much better. I think the general opinion is that that amp is pretty crap.

Very crap indeed...leave it well alone!!!

Are the speaker wires connected directly before the amp. i.e is it just a case of bypassing the amp taking the input wires to the amp straight to the speakers??

cheerZZZ..

Looks to me that the wires were just cut off and a patch put in. Makes me think that maybe the system would have been better wityh heavier guage wire than the stock stuff. Anyway - sounds good now up till the panels start to vibrate!

So now I've got to chuck out this bit of dead weight - anything to lighten a Z is worthwhile
