My clutch on my Z seems to have a different feel under different driving conditions, for example when pottering about low down in the rev range it can feel quite heavy but if you put your foot down a bit it can feel quite light.

Is this a sign of a bigger problem or is it nothing to worry about.

Any advice would be appreciated

Could be air in the system. Try bleeding it if you find it annoying.

If there is any clutch fluid leaking, it would be a good sign of the master/slave cylinder on it's way out.

I had exactly the same symptons Brian. My car is now in the garage with what I suspect is a broken slave cylinder.

I'd just reiterate what Jez said, check the fluid and bleed the system. There are two bleed points, one under the bonnet in front of the offside suspension top mount and the other on the underside of the vehicle as part of the slave cylinder assembly attached to the gearbox.

Quite easy te get at if you jack up the car and take the offside front wheel off. The manual says you should bleed the slave cylinder first.

If that doesn't help I'd get it checked out, eg a new slave cylinder is only £50 - £60.

Thanks lads I'll try bleeding the system at the weekend to see if it helps
