Heater matrix

OK, it looks like my heater matrix is buggered...........

 

My mate took the Z for a spin earlier today and said it was getting a lot hotter than usual, also the heater was all over the shop.

 

Looked at other threads to confirm and there is a pinging sound from the footwell.

 

Can this please be confirmed on what the prob is!!

    Sounds more like the car is just overheating to me - I'd be careful you don't fry the engine until you find out the cause.

    Usually when the matrix goes you end up with smelly water in the footwell.

    Any news on your Matrix Heater? Mine pissed all over the passenger footwell and i'm in the process of trying to take it out, any idea where i can get a replacement? Mine looks mint BTW, god knows were the leak is.

    The Heater matrix is one thing that you should buy new not secondhand try courtasy in the US approx £100 delivered

    Since the courtessy ones are for left hand drive cars, aren't the pipes different. I suppose that if you can dismantle the original matrix and re-use the pipes from that though

    The pipes are different , so you will need to use your existing pipes which is not a problem , the matrix itself is identical.
