I have a strange gurgling noise at idle sound like it is just in front of the passenger door..

 

pick up the revs by a tiny (and i mean tiny) amount and it goes :confused:

 

have been told it could be a breather filter filled up with water??

 

anybody had this b4 and if so how do i cure it ? its driving me barmy!!!

as Andy says, its almost definately the AIV. I've had this problem for ages and haven't got round to fixing it - things like MOTs keep my attention away!

AIVs defo,

 

once you get in there you can just detach the hose and clean it out, that cures it for a few weeks, you really have to dry out the internals as well, or you can drill a small hole in the hose so that the water leaks out that way.

 

its amazing how much noise so little water makes, i probably removed a few desert spoons full from mine.
