Guys, just wondered if I am on my own here?

 

But is anyone else really, I mean, really in debt cus of their Zed?

 

I afford to pay my loans and my cards and still live well, but I sometimes owonder how well off a month I would be without them!! And TBH, it mainly cus of the ZED? :cry:

 

Anyone else out their in a similiar position? :)

Mike, do you think the Zeds will end up the same way as your MG? Are they gonna rot to pieces too!!! :(

It's been a matter of luck really... first performance car, but I'm glad I waited until I was in an appropriate position (ie lots of disposable income and plenty of driving experience).

 

I'm 30 and I'm senior IT pre-sales (so you do the math ;) ) but I did have to sell a house to buy the Z! :rofl: (Serious relationship finished and there was a LOT of equity in the house - paid off the car loan on the DD and there was enough left for a Z and deposit on another house.)

 

Last year the Z was my big expense - I was renting a house - but things might be different this year because I now have a whanging mortage and a new daily driver to finance! So far with the new mortgage I've wander around neutral - sometimes in debt by a grand, sometimes a grand burning a hole in my pocket - but if I start to struggle, the Z is going, simple as that. (Either that or stop drinking :duffer: )

 

Nigel's point is very valid - so far the Zs have has cost me just short of 10k for everything, including a gasket failure and a total death. I certainly wouldn't have had 10k spare last year if I had any mouths to feed!

 

In two years the DD I bought for 12k nearly new has depreciated to 5 - before I've paid for servicing, diesel, or anything. The Z is still worth 5k. Even given the amount of bad luck I've had on Zs I think it actually comes out the same as buying any half-decent new car!

The MG is 38 years old, I've struggled for 2 years to keep it on the road, Its repairable just not economical.

 

like with any car, as long as you keep on top of problems they shouldn't worsen. A stich in time saves nine grand lol

Nope, Zed hasn't put me in debt (on it's own anyway!!) 2 houses, 1 Motorhome, total of 4 cars and a fiancee at university costing me a fortune will be what did it !!!!LOL!!!

A new focus will cost approx 11 grand to own over three years (the bulk of which is £6500 in depreciation). Surely a Zed can't cost that much to run, I wouldn't have thought depreciation would be an issue.

I drive a 4cyl CA18DE FWD Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe... when i drop the tubby in there and do a few other mods i'll be around 13.5!!! And ma car only cost £250 :p

Anyway, when i had my Z31 300ZX it was very very quick for a single turbo! What is the weight difference between the Z31 and Z32?

To say they have an extra tubby they aint all that quick stock. But i bet it doesn't take much modding to bring that time down???

Have to agree mate, i do a lot of work in the

Buckingham area, Aylesbury etc... Theres definately

a LOT of honeyz about. But.....the best place for

babes is Oxford, they're everywhere. Anyone who

yer 14.1 was mine standard, i put all the below gear on plus some 1mm mig tips and got 13.5.

its funny how much people go to nock an extra second off there times

Zeds aint expensive to run.......but then again. I'm a poor over worked plumber....with a huge £14,000 mortgage livin just north of london...in cheshire.

had the z for 4 months and only spent £600 on bridgestone so3's all round...faulty temp gauge, leaking coolant and leaking power steer fluid only cost £35.00 to get fixed.....sent the girlfreind round to the garrage in her shortest skirt with the car...

Why do you say that mate? I've been been working on Nissans for about 5years now!

CA18DET's can be easily tuned for a good 350BHP.

350 in a 1050KG car. Makes for a bloody quick car low 13's high 12's.

And thats without too much £££'s
