Killed my car on Saturday. Just headed off to the village which is about 2.5 miles away. I floored it to pass a line of cars and crunch grined pissshh and loads of yuky noises clouds of steam. More like Thomas the tank than a Z.

i suppose I've done OK really as I've done over 90,000 miles in the last 3 years running at 1 bar and no mechanical problems. Just well pi55ed of and in ned of a new engine.

Jessue 18.5K I aint in that league I was looking to spend 5-7K in the autume on the engine and engine bay as i've got some money coming in October. I'm also looking a modest gains around 400bh ATW and reliability. Shit always happens at the wrong time.

I will have to see wether the engine is cooked first before I deside wether or not to rebuild it or get a different lump and rebuild that. I'm not putting anything back in unless its bullet proof.

"Sh1t I knew I should have bought that Esprit"

esprit, thats not what you told me ;)

gutted for you about the engine though :(

Yeah, Esprit - that's bargain motoring all right!

They never go wrong.

Just like Z's then  :slap:

There are plenty of Rover V8's lying around and selling for buttons. + you can saw the body off to get in to the engine and when you'vr finished, you just glue it back together :D

Haven't got a clue yet. It could be a number of things, but there was definitely bits of Metal smashing and clattering around in there.

The last time I heard a similar noise was in my Patrol and that snapped the cam in for places bounced valves and split the head and the block. The difference was that was under warrenty and mister Nissan paid the bill. All because of a sudden main oil seal failure.

you know whats failed on yours? How old is this one, because it doesn't seem that long since you blew the last one.
