CAS connector wire colours

Anyone know which colour wires (in the stock loom - 89/90) go to which pins (1,2,3,4 reading from top) of the CAS? Just to triple check it's still wired up right...

Cheers..

The order goes (for a UK car)...

(supposed to be in proportion) - From terminal side:

|-|

---------------------------------------

| d c b a |

| |

---------------------------------------

|-| |-|

(arse, the forum screws up the picture, but you can see the order of the pins... one bump at the top, two at the bottom!)

d. G/B to ECU terminal 41 & 51

c. G/Y to ECU terminal 42 & 52

b. B/W to ECCS relay and fuse

a. B - Engine ground - check this. This should tell you which way round the pins are.

As you were soldering did you disconnect the power?

Do and ECU check!

Check the fuses in the engine bay. The CAS goes through one of them via the ECCS relay!

There is a list of volatages and CAS to ECU continiity to check in the manual if you are still stuck after this I could scan it tonight.

Check the ECCS relay.

You really need a consult to check the CAS readings themselves.

Good luck.

Hmmmm interesting... not entirely sure that matches up - think it does tho.. I'll check tonight - cheers Jez..

I actually didn't disconnect the power, although I didn't actually disconnect any wires (gas iron too).. They stayed tiwsted together..

At points, it was *trying* to fire - so it was obviously 'sometimes' getting a signal from the CAS.. That *seemed* to be the bottom connector (ground), but... We'll see..

Would be easier if I took the CAS off, but I don't have a timing light..

I could *murder* whoever did this 'repair' the first time out...

Az me old mate,

I know that you are deeply knowledgable where the Z satan is concerned, but do you own in your posession a copy of the workshop manual on CD? If not geeZer, and you want a copy, let me know your address via e-mail and I'll burn you a copy of on Monday and get it out to you ASAP!

Tim

;-)

Actually I do... Only the brain isn't functioning too well today, so I totally forgot about firing the laptop up to check it..

(Ahh it would be nice to have a brain! smile.gif)

Wouldn't mind a copy of that parts CD mind you if anyone has one....
