Question on spare tyre

Even though the M.O.T. does not check for a spare tyre, or even if there is one it can be bald and flat, is it correct that if you get stopped by the cops you can get done for not having a spare or for having a spare with not enough tread or underinflated?

    yeah, leagally if you have a spare tyre on board, it must be road legal (unless, i guess youve just had a blowout & your now new spare has no sidewall :D)

    John, Paul is right mate if you got one in the car then it has to be road legal, if not it is a £60 fine and if the really wants to 3 points :(
