After fitting a JWT....

After fitting a JWT filter, should there be much difference in fuel consumption?. I may be imagining it but seems to be depleating faster than usual. I also disconnected the batt when fitting so I guess the ECU is still learning, would this have an effect?.

Cheers.

IIRC the ECU will pump an extra 7% more fuel for cooling, remember the main reason for swapping the ecu is for running higher boost. Do this without swapping the ecu and you will run lean and go bang. You cant have it both ways!!

I think the ECU learns for about 250 miles or so before settling down again.

Thanks for your reply Bob.

What does IIRC mean?. Also, I have not swapped the ECU. I have only changed the box air filter for the JWT POP filter. I just dissconnected the batt when doing this as recomended.

Cheers.

Hermy: Cheers mate, she seems a lot more responsive now, not sure if that is down to the new filter or just the ECU re-learning?. I was expecting a performance increase but not this much :D He He

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

LOL, cheers Mike. I have been meaning to ask about that one for a while...

Sorry, to quick to jump in, just read JWT. !!
