Just been on the phone to them...but first here's the ad. from Max:-
M-TEC HID KIT
Previous HID kits for H1/H7 fitments have used H4 bulbs with adapter rings. This M-Tec kit is the first one available in the UK to be specifically tailored to fit straight into H1/H7 housings. Regal Auto Bulbs have sourced German ballasts and ignitors, together with Phillips Xenon bulbs, to bring you a kit that produces a beam 300 per cent brighter than stock bulbs. The fully UK legal kit takes a mere 10-15 minutes to fit and can be whipped out and fitted to another car should you choose to sell your old one.

Price: £499

...so anyway, just been on the dog & bone to the tech. guy, we can't use this existing system on our cars coz(according to him) we have one bulb that does both dipped and main beam...is this correct? I was sure that mine are seperate!
But he has told me that I need to ring back at the end of October as they are gonna be the first peeps to offer a system that does both...dipped and main from one bulb...yipppeeeee! Which he reckons will extend the main beam area by about 120 feet, or did he say metres? Whatever, but quite a way anyway!
New system is being used in the brand new Mercedes S-Class, he told me that he's seen the system in testing and it's the mutts nuts in improved brightness and beam area.
Not to mentions that it'll be the same price(ish) so I'll definitely get back to him later this month to find out what the score is.
He also told me about the bulb testing in AutoExpress that is carried out in conjunction with the AA etc.
He was saying that either Lucas or Hella, one of their advertised as "300 percent brighter" bulbs was actually dimmer than a standard bulb...WTF? Also that loads of other bulbs were actually illegal including Lucas, Hella, Halfords etc. etc. Also some top bulb manufacturer failed dismally, think he said Peer?!?!?!!??
He said the top bulb for like for like replacement is the Philips Vision Plus which performed the best and was 300 percent brighter than a standard, giving better beam area all round and extended Main beam as an added bonus.
Hope this helps guys, I'm mad for this conversion, he's sending me out a test kit for the Philips bulbs...LARGE!
Tim
