MOT problems - Cars too low!

How low can you get...

Having spent thousands on bodykits and engine mods, and finally 17" wheels LP tyres and a lower'd suspension (see my car in the rides section) - there is only one place (it seems) in the UK where I can get my car on an MOT testers ramp! (The sliding jack need 5" clearance, and I have about 5cm at the fromt) DOH!

If your in the same situation, I can recommend 4U cars in Old Windsor - call 01753 867730 - Excellent chaps - and great body shop next door too! Finally sorted - after visiting about 15 MOT stations - Phew!

Wonder if they'd pass my decatted 1994 renault.... wink.gif

my friend who sold me my Z wanted me to lower the Z 1.5inches, but nah after i tried to go to burger king with him in my camry, and his reflex was to hold on everything for dear life (handles and such) he jumped back in his seats, got all low ready for impact for a small ditch on the ground with the camry i jus ran over like nothing, but after seeing that, nahhhhh i'm not goin to lower the Z, i mean it's already been lowered 1.5inches from factory setting as i bought it.

I know the little ramp ur on about, there was a little trouble on ours, u might be able to get a couple of those silly little jacks under each side and lift it high enough to get the sliding jack under it, shouldnt be too hard but inconvenient for sure. I dont see the point in lowering a Z, mine is practically on the floor allready

Warren, forget those BlitZ lowering springZ geeZer! LOL!

Along the same lines, does anyone know if there's any rules or requirements for minimum ride height of UK cars?

I'm getting bloody sick of grounding over speed bumps and the like and was thinking of writing some ratty letters to the council or something =) Don't want them turning around and saying something like "thank you for informing us of your illegal car sir, we'll be round tomorrow to pick it up"...

Can't see that somehow, what about cars like Ferarris, Lambos etc. etc. They're skimming the surface in most cases!

I saw a case of this, some guy with a TVR used to be able to park it outside his house on an estate. Then overnight, local council slapped a load of spare tarmac up and down his road in the shape of large humbugs. Needless to say this guy got the right arse coz he could no longer park his motor at his house.

He complained, but I don't think the council relented...feckers! So not only did they introduce speed calming to the area, they also prevented one of the residents from getting his car to his house...WTF?
