My Brothers car has a stalling probs starts ok ticks over fine but when you try to boot it away the car just dies and will not start until you leave it for a couple of mins!!! when holding the revs at about 3000 revs in 2nd the car kangooroos along!

Sounds like the PTU is playing up, do a search for PTU and you'll see theres plenty of info on it.

I had this sort of problem and it went away when I replaced stock fuel hoses with Smithy's kit, and changed fuel filter!

If it were dying after accel when revs dropped I would say induction, but as you said when its accel that kinda throws that idea out the window, could be fueling probs.
