Exhaust pipes please help

Hi

I'm deciding which set of main pipes to invest in they will prob will be Scarab from the Zcentre but i want it to be loud but not so loud i keep gettin pulled by the fuzz.

Will i be able to get away with some 2.5" straight through pipes without cats or silencers and what sort of HP gain should i expect also would i notice the difference with them?

Oh i forgot to ad its a 1990 twin turbo so by law i will be able to go without the cat option but don't know about the noice levels though

I have a 1991 Jap TT with 2.5" decatt and no mid silencers, just some custom built back boxes. The first back boxes that were on it made it the loudest car you ever heard (honestly) and it did my head in driving it. I spent some serious money on sound deadening the boot and doors to reduce the noise, but still ended up spending £350 on the back boxes (which go to twin 4" tailpipes).

It's still a bit too loud for an everyday drive, but sounds loverly when you get the targas off on a sunny and find a nice tunnel to blast through.

To be honest though, after driving it most days for a year, I'm now thinking of putting the silencers back in.

The good news is, that I never got pulled by the police for being too noisy - and it really was toooooo noisy before I got the back boxes done.
