Stereo installation

Just bought a single disc Panasonic head unit but need somebody to fit it. At the moment the standard radio cassette and single disc cd player is still in the car so i need this removed and the necessary rewiring done. Any suggestions or help appreciated, P.S i live in slough so anywhere close would be good.

Just a thought, have you checked out the speakers before install? its real common that the original cones are split or broken and its a bummer to find out after new kit is fitted, if you were a bit closer would gladly oblige you with fitting but Slough is a liitle out of my neigbourhood sorry. Bazz,

I'm near Brent Cross, NW London, I'm just in the middle of doing all my stereo wiring at the moment, so if I'm not too far for you let me know and we'll sort it out.

Cheers mate,

Thats not far at all, will need to organise a time and day.

Did you say Brent Cross!!!!

I'm just around the corner too.

Wouldn't mind seeing you guys for a drink, so i can see your systems as i'm thinking of changing mine.

Bazz - I'm in Slough too mate - just took out my stock headunit and replaced it with a Pioneer DEH-9100R.. The only bit I don't have working yet is the aerial - anyone know where I can get a standard aerial plug from to put onto the wires in place of that bizarre jap connector?

BTW - check you dont have Bose speakers first... if you do - factor in a set of speakers into the job!

Oh and if you want a hand/to pop round to swop info feel free to get in touch..

Bazz,

As Az said get the extra bits:

Aerial coverter - from Nissan's or Bob (£15)

ISO connector - Stereo shop (about £15)

The stock speakers are pretty crap, so it might be worth thinking about replacing the fronts. The person to give you some good adivice on what to use would be Bob, his details are in the contacts section

Let me know what you want to do.

Vijay

You'll also need the small cubby hole thing that replaces the stock cd player.

Vijay

Hi Guy's

You can get the Aerial Adaptor from Maplins, think it cost me 90p.

Cut off the old connector, and fit the new one up job done.

Cheers Dave.

I second that!!! Try going to a car audio shop - I did and they couldn't find the adaptor so GAVE me a plug to fit biggrin.gif
