Has anyone else got a noisy fan in the overhead T bar section which pulls air over the air con sensor. It really bugging me, I took it out and cleaned it and oiled the bearing but it still wirls away as soon as the ignition is on, not major loud just enough...sound like the window is open a little, any thoughts on if it would effect the temp / climate control if I disconnected it??? Don't think it makes much difference.

Mine stops and wobbles a bit until i give it a bash every few weeks.

It passes air from the cars interior over a wire to gat a true idea of the passenger area's temp. and if it doesn't, then I guess that the worse case is that you will get (more)hot/cold air directed/pumped in to the car to compensate! I know that the fans are V expensive for what they are, but that I read somewhere that you can use a PC Processor cooling fan that cost about 3 squids!
