Speed trap van parked on double yellow lines on the A40 going into High Wycombe from the west today. Parked on double yellow lines. Not only that but so far from the kerb it was blocking the entire lane. Morons!!!!!

In fact the traffic was slowed to such an extent that no-one has a change to exceed the speed limit even if they wanted to, so not much chnace of revenue today :). Just prooves how inbred they are. I could almost hear the sound of the bano as I went past the van.

If people get a picture of the car there, any ticket that is given can be quashed on the basis that the van was parked illegally and dangerously.

It doesn't work like that mate, if you were speeding, you were speeding simple as that.

What are you going to say to the courts ? I was speeding becuase the van was parked dangerously ?. What kind of an excuse would that be ?. :slap:

How about "I was speeding cause I thought it had to a be an AL Queda bomb truck - it was parked so badly!"

:D

I'm sure that complaining about the parking could get you off in court, the police have to follow guidelines/laws themselves before they can think of prosecuting for speeding. There are whole list of guidelines, I'm sure they are available, which you could potentially use to get off. It'll probably all be on http://www.safespeed.org, http://www.pepipoo.co.uk / com, etc

I had a better one :D

2 weeks ago, coming home from work, traffic was mad busy on the m'way so had a job getting back to the inside lane to come off on the slip road. Saw a gap in front of a merc and pulled in infront of it - nothing dangerous at all and well before the 300yard marker. The merc had 3 people in it, driver on mobile phone, cocky tw@t in the passenger seat and a young lad in the back with NO SEATBELT on! They all shook their heads as I pulled in in front of them - wtf for I dunno.... Anyway, the car turned out to be an unmarked car.

1) Why the fvck do they need to drive Mercs???

2) Why the fvck was the driver on a mobile???

3) Why the fvck did the rear passenger not have his seatbelt on???

Wish I had a camera in my car now. Good job I wasn't in the Z as I'd have gone past them at 130+ to get past the truck and be at the front of the que :D

There is a polis Discovery motor that parks up on the side of the M8 westbound most mornings. It sits at the boundary between West Lothian and Lanarkshire, effectively 'no man's land'.

If you are ever up this way, check out the driver reading his paper and the other lad with his feet on the dash catching some zeds......but not my one!!

These vans are permitted to park on double yellow lines,

Surely not?? Cant believe that for a second! Double yellow lines are there for a reason (supposedly anyway...)

Where I live there is always a twat in a camera van parked on grass right next to a sign saying parking on the grass is an offence and you can be fined up to £500.

you better believe it then, because its true

Right then, next time I see this I'm gonna park right in front of the fookers :xxx:

you can be asked to move for causing an obstruction to an officer in his or her duty, then they can tow you.

Most forces don't park on yellow lines anymore, but having spoken to my police freinds they say that if caught speeding past a camera on a yellow line you are still open for prosecution.

Nah its broken down officer...

officer: ah an auto 300zx, ok sah, i guess its the gear box that has fallen off again

I am sure they are not allowed to park on double yellow lines.

A few months ago there was a photo in the paper of a police car which had been clampped. The police ordered the counsil to take it off and they refuesed unless they paid the fine.

Again in the paper a photo of a police van parked on the path because the road has double yellow lines, and you can still get done for parking on double yellow lines even if you are on the path, of a police van with speed cameras. Every single ticket which was issued from that location was quashed, as it could be classed as entrapment. The police are not allowed to brake any law to catch you braking the law.
