It could be a variety of viruses (maybe the Blaster Virus), dont you have an up to date version of Norton Antivirus on your PC.......these days you need it.

i take it u dont have any upto date virus software at the moment? get some quick virus can do damage and degrade performance quite badly ie taking up cpu time by constantly looking thru hard drive for email addys and sending them using up your bandwidth.

free checker

will do a scan of your system and route out any viruses, if they cant be deleted by this program u might need a removal tool just do a search on google for "virus name" removal and that should help.

install some virus software and keep it upto date, one that supports real time scanning and email protection preferably, i use norton and nothings got past it yet.

Firstly, do you have any form of a anti-virus softwear on your pc?

if so run this, it should find it, and remove it for you. If your anti-virus is not upto date, then update it from the manufactures site, then do a scan. Hopefully this should work. If it is unable to remove it, depending on softwear, then it should be able to tell you what the virus is called, then you can go to somewhere like Norton's web site and you should be able to get hold of a removal tool for it.

Sorry to sound vague, but untill I know what anti-virus softwear you have, it's difficult to say.

To start with get a virus checker - this one is a free download. AVG from http://www.grisoft.com

Next, it is quite likely that you do not have a virus, but someone else with your name in their address book does. That virus picks a name from that book to look like the originator of the emails and then the failure reports get bounced back to that person - YOU !

I'd recommend some antivirus software :D

Anyone without one these days is a CRAZY FOOL!

ok...i have Norton Antivirus and firewall. I run the programme 2 days ago and it didnt pick up any viruses. I have not in the last 2 monst run a live-up-date.

Because i use Yahoo as a email client will Norton still pick up the virus.

Now that you know what software i have what next? i am going to run a live up date now so`ll be back with more info!

Live update, that is what keeps NAV up to date, right ? In which case it should be run every day ! Usually this will schedule automatically.

I don't use Yahgoo, but if you mean that you use their web interface then you're pretty safe and the cause of the emails is probably due to the reason I suggested earlier.

No no no no no.

You are not sending out emails with viruses on. The returned mail message which have viruses are infact emails been sent to you. I can send you an email which says Email Failure Notification in the title, it doesnt mean its a returned email.

The email is a virus sent to you from a computer which is infected.

I suggest Grisoft virus checker. I have tried Norton, F-Prot, McAfee and Grisoft and Grisoft is the best.

I've been getting them for the past 3 bloody months!! :nono: They're normally sized at about 20-35kb with an attachment and a couple of them I've had have been titled - Re: Re: Document - and - Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender .

I just delete anything which ain't from people in my address book or names of friends.

Why do people feel the need to FVCK things up for the rest of us???

YES that is it!!!!!!! If you dont know them, or you dont trust them DONT OPEN THEM!!!!!!!!!

That is about as secure as you can go, without staying off-line permanentley :D but then you wouldnt be able to come here :D

Sounds like you have the same virus as i did, my norton didnt pick it up it sounds like the beagle virus and before anyone says anything you dont force it to have a fag!!

Try downloading this to see if you have it http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxBgleMO.exe.

Worked a treat on mine but it did delete some exe files as thats what the beagle infects...little bugger

Most of them contain a I-Worm.NetSky.q virus. That is what my computer says most of them are infected with.

Trust me.

I got Grisoft when I was convinced my copy of Norton was not finding a virus. It was up todate with the latest virus defnitions and I even went out and bought the very latest one and that didnt find anything. On a reccomendation of some one from here I got Grisoft on a free trial and it found 6 viruses which norton did not. Norton lost a lot or respect from me after that.
