After nearly 6 years, I'm ready for a change and seriously considering selliing

my Z for a 2000 tuscan.

As some of you will know I've been around here a while (since 98 I think..on the old forum).

My car is quite an early one (89), but is pretty mint. pearl yellow, 17" yoko avs alloys, stainless system and apart from that pretty standard.

milage is about 75K (once adjusted since first 60 was in Km).

It's been pretty reliable over that time. Nothing major. Latest thing being a faulty temp sensor. It had a new clutch and 4 new tyres last year. It's had new water pipes, new radiator and new water pump.

I've always had it well serviced, first 3 years at nissan, then at specialists. It's had things like the cambelt done when it was required, etc.

The nearside exhuast smokes a tiny wee bit, but has not got any worse in the last 3 years... dosn't use enough oil to ever need topping up between services.

It's a genuine import... got original jap MOTs, manual.. things like t-bar covers, original toolkit, original flare all still there.

As I say, it's in damn fine nick. Has been well maintained and probably one of the best standard 300zx TTs of the 89-90 era you'll find. Even comes with private reg. And in yellow is gorgeous if I don't say so myself... sniff.

Hence I'm thinking I can get maybe about 5.5K for it. What do you reckon ? Too much ? Not enuf ? Anyone interested ?

I'll stick a link to some piccies of it once I post some on my website.

they are old ones from 5 years ago, but to be honest she just looks the same...

differences:

better 6x9s in the front doors (infinitis), sony active panel stereo and 10 cd changer instead of alpine... yellow 3 point harnesses in (though can be removed), and stainless quad exhaust (mongoose I think).

nice car mate not being rude just honest id say its worth about 4k maybe 4.5k like i say theres alot of zeds about being sold for 3 to 4k but theres no harm in asking for 5-6k as its a nice car what i see of it .Look on autotrader wont mention any names z*bi motors sell zeds on Gplates for 5k and what we have heard there like walking on a shed roof, dodgy as **** good luck m8

Is it a TT, Manual or Auto ??

manual TT.

and yeh, the majority out there in the likes of autotrader are dogs.

and good manual TTs are always thin on the ground

Stu ...I'm in shock. Thought you keep it till the end...

what can I say. I just feel like I need a change.

I now feel like a school kid who has changed football team they support :-(

6 years is a long time. Longer than I've kept any other car. I'm sure she will understand.... the car that is.

sniff.

...if I only did 4000 miles a year I'd buy it from you... but I do 18k - and I've just fitted full leather into my NA to help me maintain interest and not trade the car in for another...

My mate Charlie needs one as a summer car - he's on hols at the moment - I'll try and sell it to him when he gets back in a couple of weeks - if it's still for sale...

sounds good Jack. My plan is to see some tuscans and wait for the right one to come up, and buy that. Only once I have a tuscan will I sell the ZX, so there is no rush to sell her. I can wait for the right buyer.

I do believe she should command a premium over the usual dodgy import muck and am prepared to wait for an educated buyer.

I'm in the same position 3.5 years and I'm ready for a change - up to an Esprit. I did test drive a Tuscan R a year or so ago - great power etc. but it shook light mad when waiting at lights. It does have great styling!!!

Good luck,

Geoff.

yeh, I had esprits on my shortlist (v8), along with a late 993 911. I got put off a bit by the tuscan by the exact same thing.. felt a bit like I was sitting in a giant tupperware box with a tractor engine in the front of it... but then you get the power on, and oh yeh.... best to think about it as a bike with extra wheels rather than a car I think... then you don't mind the inconvieniences.... :-)

I still like Esprits, but my order has to be:

1) looks

2) driving

and the tuscan... well it's the only car I can actually find myself looking at pictures of as if they were porn.
