Anyone done the 1/4 mile run and got their (true) times with any car mods.

 

Im looking to do this very shortly and wondering what time I will get.

 

Would 13.3s@102mph be feasible with a UK Manual TT, Apexi induction, 1mm boost jets and a decat exhaust, JWT Chip. Or would I be looking at beating that - providing it dont sit their wheelspinning.

running 14.5 (ish)

pete shrimp is hitting 13.4 in a auto at 12.5psi.

 

only way to tell how fast you and your car are though is to actually do some runs

13.4 @ 106 at the pod

Running loads of ignition advance and only .8bar

Also had uprated intercoolers, Metal paddle clutch, built engine bigger tubs zorst induction, chip, apexi controllers etc etc

Also that was in 30+ degree heat

13.3 at 102 = great launch, less top end/ outright power....

Your gonna have a stonking 60' time.....

I demolished a gt4 from the lights the other week.... in the rain....

 

he was going for it as well :)

My best time on stock boost, with exhaust, intake and decat downpipes was 14.3 @ 99mph.

 

Boost now at 12.5psi, SE chip, with ALC and fatter rear tyres my best is 13.4 @ 107. I'm sure I can beat it, though maybe not at Santa Pod.

I think my main worry is a decent launch, If I can launch well, im pretty sure I'll make good time. Pete, watched your vid and do you do the power breaking thing.

I tried that on my old Supra Auto and could get quiet a good launch, but Im now on a manual and trying to get enougfh speed without spinning the back is a fine art.

 

I think Im gonna have to invest in a Racelogic traction control later.

Yeah but not too many revs, only between 1,500-2,000 or it'll either pull through the starting beam or burnout lol.

 

Its completely different in a manual though where you'll have to try out what revs you can dump at given the road surface. High enough to prevent bogging down and low enough to prevent too much wheel spin. A little bit of wheel spin is good as it keeps your revs up.

At top speed challenge my best run was 13.5 secs at 105mph with all the mods below and 1mm boost jets, no uprated ecu or chip yet tho!

 

I found the best pull away was around 2.5 to 3500 revs if it lights up to much blip the throttle then nail it again :cool:

my 'efforts' are as follows, stock appart from induction kit and exhaust ( cats still in ) was 15.0

 

as above but with boost controller fitted, running around 11 to 12 psi was 14.5 at 99mph

 

next time was with chip and boost wound up to 14 this was unbelievably poo at 16 secs due to it being far too wet.

 

I'm waiting to go back and have another go ( probably the 18 of april) and will defoo be in the 13's somewhere, running around 15 to 16 psi

Just been reading 300zxclub.com and some other American sites, seems that mid 10 to low 10 1/4 miles are nothing new over there. Anyone in the UK achieved this or anywere near it?
