I am aware of the 'loophole' in our MOT flowcharts with regard to emission testing Zeds, however before I bite the bullet and go for a de-cat exhaust, has anyone proven this correct by passing an MOT with a post August 1992 Z?

If so, anyone ever been questioned / had dificulties with the MOT tester over it?

Might as well make the most of Smithy's stronger turbo seals when I get them ;)

Will my newly decatted NA visibly chuck more crap out the exhaust now? I mean vapour/smoke while idling or accelerating?

never had a problem . mine is straight thru

Yep, mine failed on the last MOT but thanks to PaulC I went back and explained why it should pass. The guy just looked at me, disappeared for 10 minutes and came back with a pass certificate :D

My MOT tested did a full CAT emissions test on mine last month (even though its a 91 car) and it passed by a mile.

(oh yes, and it has a straight through de-catted exhaust too!)
