these cars just dont give up do they!

so i sorted the hose that had come disconnected thanks to you guys but my idle is getting really bad, symptoms:

- when the car comes to a stop the revs drop reaaaally low (sometimes less than 400) and most of the time the engine just about stays alive

- sometimes it stalls so now iv got into th habit of sticking it in neutral before i stop which i shouldnt have to do cos its a bloody auto

- after dropping, the revs rise again but hunt around a bit before finding the magic 700

- even after settling at 700 it sometimes jumps around a little then settles for a while, then jumps and settles etc....

do i just need to do a lot of cleaning? berks thought it might be intake and throttle bodys full of crap.

what else could it be?

Sounds similar to the problem I had, turned out to be one of the hoses had a hole in. Replaced it, reset the ECU and all was sweet again.

Bri.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be corrosion on the plugs going into my injectors. Actually all the problems, missing, hunting idle, running like poo, have been due to corrosion on connections or crap connectors that are broken and stuff. So, if u can, check them out and spray a bit of contact cleaner around :)

Find the TPS connector, then the flying lead that comes off it. Take the connector on the end of that apart and plug it back together. Do that a few times and you may well find it cures the problem ;)

im with duffer on that one, i had same problem, cleaned the correded tps connector terminals and problem solved!
