The radiator on my zed has been replaced (before I got it) and appears to have a uk spec radiator fitted. On the passenger side the oil cooler is connected to the gearbox (auto) on the drivers side there is nothing connected. Should there be something connected to that side. Cant see any pipes or fittings anywhere that look like they should go there.

It's a long, long time since I looked at this, but I seem to recollect that the UK auto rad has a tank on each side for the autobox cooler and the Jap spec one only has it one one side. Therefore, you are probably right in saying that your Jap spec rad has been replaced with a UK spec one, and whomever did it didn't bother to plumb in the other side as well. For proper peace of mind and gearbox longevity you should get a separate gearbox oil cooler fitted and bypass the half-assed radiator based one entirely.

Andy - you are correct - The Jap spec has one cooler on the passenger side and the UK spec has one on each side - Best is to replace the radiator cooler for an external one - then when you can upgrade to a UK manual Radiator........
