Starting to put the engine back together now as all the parts have arrived :D

The crank is back in and it spins really smooth and easily. Its amazing how perfect it fits. If you dont have it perfectly level when you are putting it in, it doesnt go in. Have to make sure you tighten the bolts up in the correct order and dont put it at the full torque straight away. We did it in 4 stages.

Also put the pistons on the conrods. The rings will go on tonight probably. The hardest part was getting the little retainer pins out and back in. Most of the gudgion (spelling) pins went in very easliy. 1 or 2 where a little harder and needed to be pushed more. If people do this, you must make sure the pistons go on the right way round to the conrod.

I got my turbos back. Yay! at last. These will spool up quicker and boost higher safer 17/18psi safely. The wheels have been replaced as well as 360º bearing installed. The layout of the wheel blades seem slightly different too. Maybe they improved them? :D

Also cleaned the heads up to get a good seal when they go back on. The used to look like this

and has been cleaned to this

Used a lot of parafin and cloth, and a little but of wire wool in the thick gluey parts, making sure I didnt scratch the head.

Needs some more cleaning and the valves need reseating later too.

Just keeping you updated :D

Top stuff Stu.

Looking forward to hearing the results.

Stu have you had the heads checked , from your pics it looks like there are high and low spots and pitting , could just be the camera flash of course , but they don't look completelly flat

Starting to look good though bud
