I was looking at a GTO the other week and the owner was going to fit a sort of Y-shaped section of exhaust between downpipe and centre section.

The bottom of the Y attached to the downpipe, then one side of the top went straight to the centre section as usual. Now the clever bit, the other top piece vented straight outside, and had an electronically operated butterfly to move the flow from usual to straight outside. This frees up a load of power for drag racing etc, and makes a lot of noise :D A switch in the cable is used to open the exhaust when you want it.

Dunno what they are called, or where to get them - has anyone heard of them? Obviously the centre section of exhasut would need to be shortened to fit it in but I guess loads of places could do this.

Any thoughts about these?

Cheers

Pete
