hi...had my zed for about 3 months..dont really know much about them so if anyone can help i would be most gratefull..right start from the begining...I decided to put slick 50 in to the car..about a couple of days later when i booted the car it started to smoke...saw the reports on the group so decided to drop the oil out (magnatec) and put in some castrol rs 15-60 ran this for a couple of day (engine still smoked) but the car ran sweet..oil pressure was good basically everything spot on other than smoking when driving hard...Then yesterday it got bad on the way home it stated smoking bad..ie cars behind where having to put there lights on...When i got home it had blown the dip stick out oil every where..oil was coming out around the back of the engine where the breather pipes are and also when you take the oil cap of it looks like a steam engine......I spoke to geff this morning and he cant 100% say until he looks at the engine so basically iam looking to see if there anthing i can do with it or if just forget about it and get a new engine ?..many thanks

Ouch, sounds like a holed piston :( As Paul says, compression test is deffo in order...

hes waiting for a tester now, in the first cylinder he can see loads of oil.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

theres an outside chance it still could be the pcv valve is blocked or not working, as it can cause a buildup of crank pressure, which would force oil

past the rings and guides into the spark plug chamber,

the knackered plug will be caused by the oil down there, as i said AN OUTSIDE CHANCE, lets hope your lucky on 100/1 outsiders :(

thanks for the help ....going to do a compression test tonight...can valve stem seals cause oil to get into cylinder.?...going to check pcv valves as well, now that i know what there are...

Was the damaged plug from the same cylinder thats filled with oil? In that case, I'd say detonation has occured, destryoed the plug in the process, but not until its holed/cracked the piston :( Still no need what-so-ever for a new engine though ;)
