well had the car back up at Thor yesterday for a dyno run with the new turbos (not tuning) and well not really happy with the results my torque was up 8 but I lost 16 bhp from the last time I ran , and I am now running manwell tubs :( on an auto.

the other big thing to notice between the two sets of runs were that I had max torque and BHP at 2krpm on the auto tubs , on the manual tubs this does not happen until 3.5-4k rpm.

I do have a boost leak which needs looking at but still a little dissapointing.

will post up graphs later on when I get home.

Must also just say a big thank you to Pete and ermm (forgot the other guys name) at Thor for staying untill 7pm to fix a slight problem that Jock and Herman had.

Arnt the manual tubs bigger? If so and the cams are set up for smaller then I'd expect a decrease in power. Mind you until you get the boost leak fixed there is no way of telling what you should be pushing.

Sorry to hear it was not to succesfull mate, your figures are close for the max power at 4k,me running JWT500s as you know,so that to me sounds ok seeing as i have an auto too,how much of a leak did you have, what was your drop off when you hit full boost, until you get the leak sorted you are bound to get strange figures, did Jock and Herman run.

Roy , yea the Manual tubs are a little bigger , which is why I went for them , think your right though will have to find the leak as this will probably have made quite a difference

Tony the loss what about 2.5-3psi over the rev range i.e starting the run at 15 and finishing at 12.5 type thing , Mike did not run although just came a long for the ride and Jocks wheels :D

was very interesting linking the conZult up at the same time watching the injectors etc , although as we were just about to start adjusting the timing , the lap top died

will sort the boost leak out and get it up for another run I think ;)

The very reason I have not fitted my spare manual tubs !

Ryan, have you a stock chip, besides that once the boost leak is sorted you can then realy get to grips with the timing/fueling/boost,once thats done the fact that there manual tubs will be insignificant, just slightly more lag ;)

Tony

The reason the boost dropped off was due to the cams. Might be worth fitting some manual cams in there. Alternatively push the VTC release further up the rev range as you will now have less back pressure from the tubs - this means you can run greater overlap for longer, for more torque higher up the rev range ;)

Tony I am running a MINES at the moment

Andy I presume this is just a tweak within the maps

Yep, but it's already at 5900rpm on the mines map from memory, I'll check for you. Stock on a european car is 4900.

Did you get the SAFC II fitted Ryan, just i remember you saying you were getting one.

Gutted for you mate:(
Still ran 320 at the wheels , so not to bad , Just means I will have to go shopping for more bits :p ;)

Tony I have not bought or fitted an SAFC yet as THOR are looking

in to the LINK system for me :D :D

Ryan,

Do you know if Thor can map the ERPOM directly or do they require some sort of E-manage system ?

I think they require an E-management.

I think they require an E-management.
well this is something that Pete (Thor) is looking at doing as we speak , at the moment this can only be done using some sort of E-management , but once basic maps are in place then I am pretty sure you can alter these using an Emulator type tool , that would then give each indivdual car a unique set up
I've got an emulator and some software I did for real time mapping.

No trace yet but it does work.

John where did you purchase your Emulator from ???

It's an Xtronics Romulator was given it for free on the condition I did the software!

If you wait a little while, live mapping through the consult port is not far away thanks to a guy in the states

I have no problem waiting mate

Ryan

No - I think we're all waiting for that day John! :D

and Ryan, 320 at the wheels ain't bad at all matey!

Hope you're gonna video it Stu!

Must also just say a big thank you to Pete

No probs mate ;)

If your still getting that power with leaks then I'd expect a great figure when sorted :)
