Standard mods really - JWT Chip/No limiter/Blitz induction/de-cat pipes/boost running at 1 bar. est 370-375 bhp (SE estimation).

That much? I thought it would be nearer 160. My speedo only shows up to 115mph. :) I'll put the 180 one in when I get the new dials from Chris.

Erm, mods won't make much difference unless he has significantly different wheels !

 

With standard tyres -245/45ZR16 on 8.5J X 16 rims, the manual twin turbo (final drive ratio 3.69:1) the turbo achieves the following speeds:

Gear MPH RPM

1st 43 7200

2nd 72 7200

3rd 107 7200

4th 139 7200

5th 155 6000 with speed limiter

5th 165 6400 without speed limiter

5th 186 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited

So i was not out by much then,at least my memory is working ok today :rolleyes: ,one thing,some time ago i got close to 180,depending on speedo error of course,but the revs were definatly not over the 7,000 rpm mark(think it was when i took on that XKR)was at the time very surprised,but not now,Tony :cool:

If you replace the stock wheels with 17" with 45profiles on doe sit gain or lose speed?

does it give slightly more top end and less acceleration or vice versa?

156.16mph @25.6mph/1000rpm on TT manual. taking anorak off now

yeah - the only way to increase these is to raise the rev limiter or alter the gearing.

 

but assuming gearing stays the same, then 6100rpm will remain the same speed even if you have fekking great tubs, or just completely stock :smw:

6100rpms in 5th means you're haulin some major ass... or arse... you'll be up around 150 -160 mph... i've been there... it's nice :) but why are you looking at the speedo??? shouldn't you be looking at the road?

I looked at the rev counted through the finish at TSC on Sunday, at 155mph it was at about 5,800 in 4th (auto), overdrive on, creeping slowly up hehe

Slightly different for the Jap car though with 225/50/16s on the rear. This will give a 0.72% increase in speed:

 

i.e re your quoted in 5th gear:

 

with limiter @ 6000...........156.1

without limiter @ 6400......166.2

theoretical @ 7200...........187.3

 

For the automatic:

245/45/16 (225/50/16)

with @ 5500 155mph (156.1) :hyper:

without @ 6400 178mph (179.2) :hyper: :hyper:

theoretical @ 7200 201mph (202.4) :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
