Hello guys,

I notice we have been getting some coverage on your site (mostly good but some bad).

Thought I'd firstly say thanks to the members that have given our company a try and of course to those of you who have insured your cars through us.

As some of you will know we have a specialist scheme with Chaucer Insurance Company. They can cater for a large proportion of your vehicles even with mods. The scheme however will not accept every risk. We do seem to score though where the car is a second vehicle and the annual milage is low.

Some of you will have tried us and had no joy for which we are sorry but the scheme is very competitively priced and to keep it this way the insurers have put in place some quite strict underwriting criteria.

Just a few words of warning though. It is usual for insurers to apply quite heavy penalties for cancelling mid term. The scheme has been priced to sell an annual policy on a resticted milage policy and this is what you buy. To keep the costs (and therefore premiums) down the insurers apply harsh cancellation fees. This is mainly to avoid a policy being purchsed just to cover the vehicle for the summer months.

Anyway, please keep the enquiries coming. We can't please all of you we accept but we are pleased we have had some positive feedback.

Regards,

Colin Tidd

You guys seem to be doing a great job, unfortuently I couldn't get covered due to being under 23 :( I think it should be taken into account the length you have owned the vehicle, personally I've had the car over 2 years and have yet to have an at fault insurance claim.

I intend to call you guys when my renewals due up to see what you can quote me for!

Same here. Just renewed with you guys. Great price _and_ the policy taylored to my whims. Very helpful.

Thanks

I am insured with Houghtons, by far and away the best quote I had.

I have never paid such a low amount for insurance on any car I have owned nevermind a Zed!

Thanks guys, keep up the good work. :)

Justin

i will be calling haughton for a quote soon but how does the second car insurance work do i use my 7years no claims for the zed and then have to start fresh with the other car??

you dont use your no claims on your z its a classic policy

you use it on your second car that is classed as your main car if that makes sense

steve

These Guys at Houghton are very professional and appreciate the time and money that go into our modified cars, i cannot reccomend Enough, just give them a try at renewel time.

 "T" :)

As mentioned above excellent service and a quote to beat all. Thanks to this site for the recommendation, and to Ken at Houghton's for his assistance in setting up my policy.

HI, JUST GOT INSURED BY THEM ,GREAT PRICE CANT BE BEAT !VERY POLITE PEOPLE,THANKS

Just a pity you have to view people up North as a bad risk

The ol' North South devide eh :nono:

Hi Ken,

It was a pleasure to speak to you, and organise something offical for the club, as insurance is a burden for most members!

It makes to a change to talk to an insurance company that knows how to treat enthusiasts!

Just gave Ken a quick call as the old insurance is due for renewal.

I am well pleased. I declared the following mods to my car

Blitz Induction

Apexi boost conroller

Chipped JWT

Apexi AFC

3G brakes

Redstuff pads

Aftermarket stainless steel exhaust

And the result was on a classic limited milage policy £325.00

:hyper: :hyper:

Chris

A phone number would be really helpful

they are going to love me

I agree Chris - Seems a Manchester Postcode (and I gues L'pool is the same) puts us in the very top bracket for high risk locations with Houghton's. I think they need to check this out as EVERY other insurer I spoke to told me that my Postcode was NOT in the highest risk group.

I got insured for less than half what Houghton quoted

Too true bud hmm3grin3thumborange.gif

I don't think that Houghtons are cheap at all !!! I live in a quiet area with loads of countryside on my doorstep and I dont come within the high risk category at all and they wanted £773. That is bloody awful for a 37year old with a clean licence and 20 years no claims and no accidents. I wouldn't mind paying that figure but as most of you guys all seem to be getting it so cheap then F**K em.

I think they can get you a good premium if you take on the classic policy and use a daily driver ...

I am amazed though regarding on where you live ... I live down South, maybe that has something to do with it .. don't ask me why.

But I am happy with the quote I got.

Chris
