After this evenings debacle and with the prospect of this thread probably getting deleted i'm trying to get a feeler for how people actually feel about this club.

I want people in the best way that they can to say what they feel is both good and bad about this club, that way there is no excuse for moderating this post when it is trying to be constructive in trying to improve the group for everyone.

So here i go for starters:

 

What I apreciate about this club -

 

1 - The people I have met, you are all top drawer. Meets are always a good laugh, people are always friendly and will usually bend over backwards to help each other.

 

2 - The technical knowledge , where would we be if it wasnt for the technical knowledge available to us to enable us to keep these wallet sucking monsters on the road. we'd be really stuck if we didnt have the likes of Duffer, vijay, and john dixon floating around ( these are just a few examples, sorry if you didnt get a mention)

 

3 - The traders section, Mac has done a great job in getting people on board and on the whole I think the club is a better place for having them here.

 

4 - The general layout of the forum, it looks good and well done to the people who keep this place up and running from a technical point of view.

 

I feel this place could be better if .....

 

1 - We had a group insurance scheme, alot of other clubs have one, why dont we? I Mark was talking to someone about it but did we see any feedback? nope. I put a post up about lifesure becomming a member? I would have thought a reply from one of the mods about it may have been in order to keep people up to date about whats happeneing. Infact I think better feedback all round is required about all things happening behind the scenes, if there are any.

 

2 - Moderation.. This place is far too harshly moderated, i'm sure you have your reasons but IN MY OPINION its too hard. Thats all i'm going to say as it will probably be deleted anyway. Sonthing is missing from this forum, remember the post by timmy turbo? is it always this quiet round here? errm yes Tim i'm afraid lately it is due to all lively posts getting deleted.

 

 

3 - Discounts - I have recently been informed that another car club also gets a discount at Demon Tweeks,its only 10% or so but its better than nothing. Is this something we could persue? If the club wants i'd be willing to chase it up, I thought id offer before we get the 'ask what you can do for your country, not what your country can do for you' is used.

 

 

So if all other peeps can put their comments on here in a similar format that would be great, I'd be especially interested to here new peeps impressions of the club, membership packs and general findings are. Only by finding out what is good and bad about this place can we move forwards, otherwise we will sit and rot! much like our cars!! (:D it was a joke a :D)

I take on board a couple of you points, but if you think this board is moderated in a heavy handed way you should take a look at some of the others.

 

More could be done IMO but i'm sure it will happen given time. The actual "club" is not that old and is still in it's virginal :eek: period.

 

I also think this should have been posted in the members section ;)

cheers for that Chris, but i want to get a feel from guests aswell, people who are looking in from the outside wanting to see if its worth joining or not in their opinion, what they would be expecting to get from the club etc

I think we could make this club much better by letting sleeping dogs lay and not crying over spilt mik :D.

 

I think we should just let it go and look forward rather than behind. Lets look where we want to go rather than where we have been.

Where I would like to be is recognised and respected as a club

 

Respect comes from both sides, members and mods alike. We ask them to appreciate our opinion and we should have the decency to do the sme without going on the attack.

 

Still, I do feel just a little queasy about something right now

I have no complaints with the club as it is. :cool:

 

Great place to chat ZX, get tech info and generally have a laugh about NZR items eg. life, the universe etc ;)

 

I don't get involved in the squabbles etc, as so far I've been unaffected by the issues. I therefore have nothing to contribute as I've no personal experience to draw upon. :tongue:

Ive only been on here for about a year, but this place has made owning a Z a lot easier. And a lot cheaper.

 

Ive met some good people through this forum, and had a lot of laughs as well.

 

The only downside has been certain arguements going on, that have left a bad taste in my mouth.

 

But, that aside, this place is a good place and a far better forum/club than others ive seen.

To be fair, there is virtually no moderation on here and that's because there is very little needed. Just because a couple of people have a bee in their bonnet about something, and can't take a hint, doesn't mean the rest should be affected.

Thanks Scoops,It has taken a lot of sweat I can tell you LOL,that's one of the reasons I now have an assistant,who is now sorting online tyres;)

rather uncanny this as today i was thinking ive been on here just over a year and things have certainly come along way, the boards had its ups and downs but i think with the group buy section/traders sections/ sorted FAQs things are really starting to look and feel like an organised club, ive only been to one meet the Thorsby one last year and didnt really get to speak to many people but those i did were helpfull and not in the least bit hostile.

 

big thanks go to those that have done FAQs, sorted group buys and generally bent over backwards to help a growing community.

 

together we are a vast hive of knowledge and i think this is whats needed, whether it be zed related or not, we all have an expertise in some field or another and this i feel is invaluable.

 

i like many others have put a lot of time and money into a fantastic car that i feel would have probably given up on if it werent for the backing of many of u guys on here.

 

so my thanks go out the club and all its members who have helped :bow: :bow: :bow:

This is better, a productive thread highlighting problems.

 

Re moderation: personally if a descision is taken to moderate a thread then any off spawns of that thread WILL be moderated accordingly because if I or another moderator do anything then it has to be backed up 110%. If you know me then you know i'm not a keyboard ninja, I will say exactly to your face what I type up on the forum.

 

This place is not harshly moderated, there is one issue that everyone knows is taboo and both sides are moderated equally, I'm sorry but if we let the positive side have their say then we have to let the negative side have their say, and this WILL cause to much trouble for the forum. The commitee spends a lot of time on this forum, personally I put in more hours than are healthy keeping this site running, for one issue to take up our time is unnaceptable and we need to deal with it accordingly.

 

re the negative points

 

1) we have club insruance via houghton currently, this has been covered.

2) it really isn't, we moderate to keep arguments off of the forum, there is no place for them here,

3) traders offer a discount, we are always willing to take more traders on board.
