Other than the price that Nissan charge for them, is there anything special about the balance bar O rings.

Featured Replies

Don't think so. You're right though, the price is really special!

You could just use instant gasket ...

or get a o-ring kit like me and make any size you want

Have you got the dimensions to hand? I am in need of a full set as well as I'm replacing my stock balance bar with a nicely chromed one :)

Cheers!

Where can you get chromed balance bars?

Mathew,

Dont you have to use different types of material for different fluid contacts ?

Cheers,

John

No the kit i got will do allsorts, I did use some from my local plumbers, but they did'nt last long. And this kit seams to have done the trick.

Only problem is its fooking expensive!

bung me your address(s) (PM or email) and I'll post a set of O-rings for the balance bar... ;)

I've got access to an O-ring kit both metric and imperial, but found the metric ones are the best fit :slap:

Where can you get chromed balance bars?

I got a spare one off a breaker and had it chromed locally. Did it at the same time as my rad brackets, fuel rail, battery holders and bonnet prang. If there is interest in this then I can see if I can offer this service on an exchange basis. Price for getting the balance bar chromed was around £30 + VAT and took 3 weeks (very busy place as they do lots of work for Land Rover and Jaguar classic cars). I'll put a pic up of the finished product at the weekend.

Regards,

Does this mean I need new o-rings when I take mine off to paint it?

You shouldn't have to but it depends on their condition. I'm replacing mine because they look like they're the original (now 14 years old) ones and I'm slowly changing everything for new.
