The Nemesis Performance 350Z is a stunning car, even more so in the flesh! Got chatting to one of the guys responsible for the engine mods at a show last year and he showed me round the car. Still get the slight niggling feeling every time I see it that the "turbine-look "wheels are facing the wrong way though! :D

Leigh.

erm... just thinking mate, are your tyres on the right way ?.

Cause if you swap those wheel round you may find you don't have any grip on the rear

apparently the wheels are areodynamic :D. The right way round cuts through the air better  erm yeah like it's gonna make that much difference :)

good point ill look tomorow

and go down the garage and give the monkeys a good slap

thanks

That is a very good point, check to see if they are uni-directional, or just directional tyres, check with the monkeys :smw: at the garage if your not sure. Mine were uni-directional :D

Alright Steve, been putting off cleaning up the final two contacts as it means taking off the fuel lines! Ho-hum... Anyway, spent this morning being rained on, snowed on, hailed on, then snowed on (again) removing my starter motor (again)! Hope you're getting on well with the car after your modification on Monday ;)

Allegedly, the wheel design is supposed to help with cooling the brakes and preventing disc warpage. Anyway, like people said, performance tyres are normally directional, so swapping sides may put the tyres the wrong way around ....

It is actually REALLY easy to tell whether the wheels are on the right way - the castings have L or R on them adjacent to the part number.

suppose that is a thing that not a lot of us really think about. Well spotted.

Just what I was going to say.

Going back to the original post I don't like the 350Z at all. It just looks crap and very Audi TT ish. Sort of hair dresser ish infact it suit AdamR to a T.

Further to AndyP's post - for those amongst us who don't know their left from right - open the bonnet, on the metal bar that spans the width of the car just behind the headlights there is a R and L stamped into the metal. Now look at your wheels and make sure that the R's or on the Right side and the L's are on the Left side.

Usually (and I know this is true for Bridgestone, Toyo and Pirelli) there is an arrow and the words "direction" embossed on the tyre wall. This is the rolling direction of forward travel. Make sure it's not pointing the wrong way when you've swapped your wheels around.

HTH

they are designed that way so when they rotate they actively pull air over the disc

and cool it down ( after a damn good thrashing obviously )

Steve

Yeah, I asked about the wheels too. Believe me, that car is seriously imposing in the flesh. Had a sit in it too.

More here - should be obvious which files you need to look at!
