Mine does that occasionally when I first start it in the morning after a cold night. Is it happening all the time?

I have the same problem, very occasionally if i nail it in neutral then come straight off the gas, it will drop to cut out!

Mine ticks over at 700 rpm anyway, so im gonna have to get my S-AFC to sort that i think.

i had the same problem with a corrado g60 i found out that it was the idle control valve and all that was required was to clean the dirt out, i am new to the zeds and dont know if they have a similer valve on them

Could be a number of things Jay, have you tried

cleaning out the throttle bodies?

Mine almost dies at junctions when I come out of gear. Re-setting the ecu now to see if that cures it.

Same problem here - was better for a bit after ECU reset but problem slowly coming back.

I seem to have good idle when actually idling, in neutral at a standstill, but the "idle" when you're actually coasting isn't so good and sometimes dips low like yours. There's definitely an "idle" and an "idle", if you know what I mean, and you can see when the car changes from one mode to the other.

I still haven't cleaned the PTU, so that's the first place to start... but would having a look at the IAA help? How does the car decide whether/when the idle is controlled by the engine or the ECU (IYSWIM?)

Clean the idle valve out, reset the ecu and reset the base idle. 99% of the time the base idle has drifted off and the ecu has a nightmare trying to correct for it. Idle while cruising is another problem - caused by turbulence in the MAS by fitting an aftermarket filter - I no longer have this problem, see the pic and guess why :p:D

Me too and I have already cleaned the idle valve and the electrical connections and reset the ECU and reset the idle, but it's still being a pain intermittently when cold.

Incidentally, tickover should be approx 700rpm anyway.

have you checked the throttle position sensor? is the throttle cable sticking slightly and giving the TPS a difficult time in telling the ECU where it is hence the revs up and down like a whores drawers check the TPS is clean and the cable assembly runs smoothly

Andy mate, you seem to have lost your MAF  What are you using instead, some vein pressure thing or other

And the prize goes to..... :D

Yeah no more MAF - using a HKS VPC instead. Throttle responce is much better now, although these things can just seem to make a difference LOL

Where's this idle valve 'cause mine's still reving a bit, & how exactly do you adjust it. I want to try this tomorrow .

I've just read the pages AndyP posted links to above... I think I get it now. I think the problem is my idle idle is way too low, and it's not until the ECU takes over that it sorts itself out...
