One of the things Mac and I think we are missing off the traders section is a tyre supplier. which would you guys prefer an internet supplier where you would buy your tyres and sort the fitting etc out yourself, or mainstream tyre centres who will supply and fit your tyres for you.

I have to agree Dave but thought I would ask before I go trawling tyre suppliers , by the way any recomendations would be appreciated.

Will drag a link out tomorrow, ive got it on my work pc, but not here. It's not of a company that i have used yet, but will be doing when i replace all my tyres. The only place i've used before is called Southern Tyres, and i cant remember where their from.

My tyres actually offer free fitting with selected dealers. Or they used too.

Cracking idea, though I do like Elite Wheels and tyres because they are about 300 yards from my house.

I've just used BlackCircles.com and they where great.

I used to use Pemberton Tyres but have had far too many problems to ever go back again.

I've got 17" Toyo Proxes T-1S's on my Z. KwikFit quoted £275.00 + VAT each corner  Motorway quoted £225.00 + VAT, and a small local dealer (who WAS a mate till the last time he fooked up my wheels) quoted £140.00 each.

mytyres.co.uk delivered me a set within 3 days for £79.00 each, and I had them fitted at Motorway for £9 each. No brainer, go internet! :)

The problem for me now though, is that, in the past I would have used Kwik-Fit, as I knew the manager and he always looked after me himself. But now he no longer works there, and they all seem a right bunch of tossers, so wouldnt trust them to work on the Z. And theres another story regarding Kwik-Fit where I work as well, but I wont bring that up here :D lol

Also National all look dim-witts as well, so i've gota look around for a decent place that dont mind fitting them.

I agree with tooley try Alan at pemberton tyres

top man and always willing to look round for the best price on wheels & tyers .

and has a great stock of alloys in and does the best deals on most makes of alloy you could want he is a car nut himself and tools around in a 360 BHP scooby

well looking at the prices on some of those site I'll be sticking with my local dealer.

He quoted me £175.00 for Mitchelin Pilots 275/40/18

and £150.00 for 235/45/18 and thats fitted

The last time I heard Mark, Michelin are not a grip tyre they are a harder compound more suitable for longer wear!

Skidz in central Scotland. Do ally, ICE etc and always beat any prices I get from internet companies. Plus they fit and balance as well and know how to look after decent allys

I think that was a long time ago. I remember the old Michelin's used to last for ever, but were grade one ditch finders. The write ups I've been reading put the pilots in the top 4 in dry weather grip and 1st for wet weather.

The German reports I've read and the reports I've read on the web all pritty much say the same. They also put Goodyear, bridgstone SO2's (my usual choice) and the New Yokohoma's very high.

Local dealer say's he can get Goodyears for about the same price.
