OK, I have recently fitted a new front bumper to my car (1990 TT UK Spec) and have no side lights ? I thought that the smoked rectangular lights were Indicators and side lights incorporated with each other, It turns out that they are only indicators. I spoke to Luke today (Z Centre) and he seems to think that they incorporated both on vehicles from mid-1992 onwards ?
I had a problem with my tail lights not working and checked the footwell fuse box and the 3rd fuse from top left was blown after replacing it with a 7.5w insted of 10w (All I had) that blew I then replaced with a 20w (All I had) and getting them working I noticed that I had no side lights, I now have a 10w in place and I need to get them working by next Wednesday for my MOT. Luke also mentioned that he thought UK cars had side lights incorporated with your low beam light i.e they come on dimmer that normal low beam (Can anyone else confirm this) as I cannot remember where my side lights were originally after not driving my car for 5 months whilst in the body shop ??
Anyhow after messing around with my bulbs etc in the cold and rain I have now managed to bugger everything up altogether and after installing 100w bulbs in both low beam lights (I know they get hot and melt rubber etc)the car now permanently (When you switch lights on) stays on high beam on the driver side. So basically I have no side lights and now no low beam etc etc HELP ME I'M TEARING MY HAIR OUT !!!!   :(
