I feel like a blown headgasket is the go to diagnostic of these cars. I was told very much the same many years ago and it was a split water pipe and a dodgy MAF sensor. Took about 10 minutes for someone with knowledge to diagnose.
The best specialist in the country isn’t far from the places you’re taking. I also would assume that you must of paid more than tuppence for the car as they aren’t cheap these days. It’s got to be worth getting an expert to give it the once over. If it is dead, I recon he will even have a good contact for getting rid of that’s the case.

Hi Guyz,
I'm in the middle of having my brakes rebuilt
and have run into a slight prob,4 of the 8 pistons have had it on the front end.
Nissan don't seem to have any in the UK at the moment and it could take up to a week to get some.
Problem is I'm driving to the Lake District Tmw
to celebrate my wedding anniversary (or not as the case may be).
Has anyone got a set of standard callipers left over from an upgrade they don't want??
then i could maybe get some semi decent pots.
I'm in the west London area but will drive the other halfs fiesta if needs be to where ever (with in reason)
cheers Pete.
