i know a few have got creaky front suspension, mines been doing it for a while too, finally got round to fixing it yesterday, been bugging me for ages! :hyper:

i think most of mine was down to the front anti-roll bar bushes.

replaced these, also removed the top arms & tension rods, cleaned & lubricated the fixing bolts with copper ease spay.

all quiet now :hyper:

Sounds like the problem I've been having for ages. Feels really good when a quirky problem is fixed.

Did you replace the bushes with standard ones or the stiffer poly ones?

How does the car feel with the replaced bushes?

Had the same problem myself a couple of months back. Suspension Techniques use a poly bush that seems to go dry after a few years - took it apart, greased it with the normal thick goopy stuff and it was fine afterwards. Sounds AWFUL before though because it resonates through the chassis !

Andy,

Is there a special grease for poly bushes ? I was always led to believe that "plastic" type materials and grease are not too compatible, and, I thought polyethylene type materials needed no lubrication.

Thanks

John

Erm, dunno. Originally they supplied some white stuff, this time I just Castrol Moly that I had kicking around.

stu - took me about 2 1/2 hrs, but that was because one of the anti-roll bar bolts was siezed & snapped off in the chassis :( had to drill & tap it out.

eddie - replaced with standard ones from Courtesy, was gonna go for poly ones, but they had no stock & said it could be a couple of months before thay could get them in!

TBH, the suspension still feels the same, just without that bloody annoying creak!! :)
