Just driving up the motorway and give it some welly, (aftermarket) Boost gauge shot up to 15 psi, then a big lurch as engine dies (not fully but lumpy as hell) . Pulled over and engine stalled, tried to start, engine would tick over but wouldnt go above 2.5k and I had to keep pumping the pedal to keep it ticking over otherwise it just stalled. eventually got the car running and could rev up to about 5k. So pulled away, power was really down though and it absically run like a bag of sh*t. Stopping at traffic lights tickover would drop down to 200 then stall. Eventually - pulled over and got a bite to eat. Started car again and its fine. Boosted back to 15psi, and tickover is back to normal. Any idea what happened, its getting me too scared of putting my foot down - whats the point in having a fast car if ya too scared of killing the engine to boot it.

I was thinking possibly fuel temp sensor may think fuel was overheating thus retarding ignition? but the way the engine just died when it hit boost wouldnt suggest that?

I would say either TPS or AFM.

Give both connectors a good wiggle next time it happens and see which one cures the problem. On mine it was the TPS.

what he said ;)

I tried both, because TPS was loose last week, Jeff sorted it out and TPS should be working ok

AFM was refitted again and all connectors cleaned about 2 weeks ago because I fitted an APEXI Filter. Im sure this has done this before though

When I pulled over wiggling the TPS leads and the AFM made no difference. (I had the headlamp panel off too) - forgot to mention that.

Is that all it can be - shall I cut connectors out and solder them direct on or summit?

no I wouldn't cut the connectors. Maybe get new connectors.

Have you done an ECU diag ?

Stu, I was gonna do an ECU but didnt as it is now running ok.

Thinking of getting a laptop and conzult :)

An ecu diag woul;d only show if sensor wasnt working? not a bad connector though?

sounds like you sucked up some water, is your splash guard still fitted under the filter?

I had TPS problems after I fitted the apexi, I reset the ECU and cleaned up the TPS and I havnt had a problem since.

Splash guard is there - I presume its a splash guard ;)

I kept dropping the friggin screws and they landed on something black and plasticy.

I washed the car about 2 hours before going out, but there was no rain or water on the roads?

When I press the accelerator, I can hear the TPS relay switching.
