Went down to Ryan's yesterday for a timing and ConZult check and to put some new spark plugs in, as I'm getting detting at high revs. Cheers very much for your day mate :) Top man! Matt (MTL) was there too so we'll call it the southwest-ish auto owners meet :D

The timing check showed my timing to be at 16o, so we knocked it back to 14.

And the ConZult showed my pass side O2 Sensor to be completely dead  Lo and behold Ryan had a good spare O2 sensor which the muppet wouldn't take money for  ;) I owe you one bud.

Having not expected to have to change an O2 sensor I didnt bring my crows foot sockets so we made do with Ryan's King Dick, lots of sockets and extensions and expletives! Got there in the end - so it is possible ;) Wouldn't have been able to do it with my mediocre tool selection so thanks again Ryan for the beefy array of tools! The conZult showed the new sensor to be perfect

Having not changed the plugs myself on a Zed - what a PITA - having to take the strut brace and balance bar off to get to the back 2 plugs!

The car ran a bit smoother on the way back, with no apparent negative power effect from knocking the timing back, and detting was very much reduced, though still there higher up the revs range :) A good days work :) Gonna fit my adjustable fuel pressure regulator when it arrives, and knock the boost back down to 12psi.

Cheers

Pete

Nice to see a gay couple working in such harmony......and not frightened to admit it.

Seriously, good days work then. Dead O2 woldn't be doing you any favours eh?

Adjustable FPR will be here by the end of next week. I received an email from Overboost Store saying I had to fax over photo ID and copy of credit card statement for address - so that delayed it a bit.

What plugs did you chuck in? Any cooler rating?

No worries mate I will just deduct my fees from the purchase of your ALC bud :D , I am pretty sure once you have the new fuel pressure regulator fitted the detting at the top end should stop

Plugs are ZFR7F-11s lovely and cold  Ordered them through local motor factors.

Just been out to put the 1mm boost jets back in - and I only went and dropped one of them down into the maze of power steering hoses  No chance of getting it out, only succeeded in pushing it further :( Ryan - you havent got any more 1mm jets have you mate? :)
