Everytime I take my car down the local garagfe and jetwash it Its comes back dirtier!!!!

Whats happening is the rear side window rubber at the bottom and the bottom of the lights seem to be full of dirt. I have jetwashed just the window rubber for about 5 mins and still more comes out.

Same goes to rear light cluster, mud and grit comes out from the bottom of the light cluster continually.

Anyone else have same problem?

I removed the light cluster and cleaned up and refitted a while ago but its still does it!!!

just wipe it over with a rain damped cloth that will cure your problem.

i cant say i have had this problem are your rubbers rotten.

if you use a pressure washer it knacker your paint, they use a water conditioner to stop them furring up , the chemical detergent is harsh as it is a traffic film remover more commonly used for buses taxi,s etc. with the pressure you could also be forcing water and detergent into places the water was never ment to go ??

that happens to me too, now I just avoid excessivly spraying the seals and after rinsing the car, turn the pump off and spray over the dirt coming from the seals with low pressure, then dry off.

Cheers people

I may just stick to hosing down with normal tap supply then.

I have a Karcher pressure washer but have ben told by the paint experts not to use this on my car. A decent wax once a month will make the car easier to clean.

Get to the dirt and use autoglym paint restorer, dirt also builds up at the top of the boot, I had to spend 30 minutes scrubbing that becuase every time i cleaned my car it would run dirt down the side.

Now theres an idea, do you mean at the very top of the boot so it runs down the gutter?

Also my spoiler is on its way out - Ive just got on eof them new ones im waiting for it to be fitted so I spose crud could be getting under my old spoiler and running behind lights etc

The ''black bits'' are your rubber seals crumbling away, it will

keep doing this until you have no seals!!

I use a toothbrush on mine, in the panel gaps, ariel holder, r'ber seals etc..

takes a while but looks good when finished!

Only use a jetwash on your wheels, nothing else.

Don't rely on water pressure to clean your car.

to help keep your rubber seals from cracking and goin rotten try auto glym rubber, hood, seal protector helps keep the seals supple and helps stop water gettin where its going, helped on my old old bmw!!anyway

I never use car washes - jets or anything else - stick to the hand job - its the best and use good quality materials and wax every few months.
