As some of you may know, last year i had a big bike accident, i have already had a number of operations but now it's time for the big one. I was given an ultematum(sp) either have this op or lose my leg.......

I have got to have a external brace round the top of my leg and it will go all the way down to my shin. I will have to keep this on for around 6 months, so i no billing or shows for me this year.

I'm hoping i'll only be in hospital a couple of weeks, so i can get home and read all the get better soon messages...LOL :o

Just thought i'd let you all know

  • 2 weeks later...

Cheers all, a little tear was shead reading that.

That meant a lot as i've only been coming on here a few months.

Matty, Sorry i didn't text will call you soon.

Needless to say the tart came out in me and i chatted up a few of the more "talented" nurses. Sorry James no pics, but i'm back in again for the Fixator to come off in 3 months so i'll see what i can do.

The Op went as planned, i didn't realise just how much pain i was going to be in though.

The fixator looks scary as it's quite high on my thigh, I'll post a pic or two tomorrow when im not so knackered.

Thanks again

Chunk :duffer:

Chunk! You're back! :D :D :D

Really glad you're out and the op went well! Hope the pain don't get too bad though mate...:(...now bloody well go and get some sleep and recover! ;) :)

Cheers Leigh,

I'm off to sleep now mate,

Catch you all soon

Rich:)

Be glad youv got an auto, you could be able to drive your Zed sooner than a manual :hyper:

good to hear you're back with us mate. Hope the recovery is a speedy one.

Glad you are on the mend! Have fun with the happy pills, and for fooks sake make sure you do ALL the excersises the physios give you to do!!!!!

Hope you've got someone around to wait on you hand and foot!

Best of luck!

Neil

(a fellow biker who also sets off all the metal detectors at the airport!)

Glad to here your on the mend. Remember as X-biker says and I know being an exbiker myself for the same reasons. Do all your excersises or you'll end up like me hardly able to walk for first couple of hours on cold mornings. NO MORE ROAD BIKES. track days and scramblers only. There are too many loonies on the roads. YOU'VE BEEN TOLD.

Best of luck and hopr ya running around soon

I won't be doing many exersizes for a while, but i will be doing ALL the one's that im told to do. My accident was very nearly a year ago so i've done plenty of physio already:(

I don't intend to get back on a bike (road or track) as i couldn't handle all the crap i've been through again, although i shall continue my job which is selling and setting up bikes as soon as i'm able.

I have to keep the fixator on for a minimum of 3 months, so billing is my target.

Cheers again

Rich ;)
