I cant believe it. Weeks of hard work and the engine is gone. It feels strange walking into the garage and not have to walk round an engine.

The heavy lump engine is reduced to a size where you can pick it up. It is the strangest feeling.

Anyways, the block is now at the engineers as well as the crank. Their first reaction was the crank didnt need anything doing to it but they will check it out anyway. Not bad for so many miles.

You should have seen the size of some of the cranks and conrods they had there. I saw a conrod which was close it not over half a metre long.

Anyway its good to know that the block is in good hands. :D

He was impressed with the pistons too :D

Where have you sent it to, Stu?

Place called Weir Street Engineers in Blackburn.

It has been highly recommended by a few people who use them.

..and what are you having done?

I thought that SE were the only people recommended, so I'm fascinated to hear of a more 'local' option.

Getting the block horned so I can fit the larger pistons in. Also they will ground the crank if it needs it, which when they looked at said it was in ver good condition.

AY3388 asked a few people who rally their cars and they recommended them.

your block is getting horned? what? its getting frisky!!! ;)

mmm, yes sounds dodgy to me, not tomention freakin expensive!
