Hi,

Just a quick question ref the gearbox oil cooler. I have a jap import and have read and seen (in Zcentre web site ) that its recommended that the cooler is changed for a bigger one. How high on 'the things to do' list should i put this on. How many people have done this?? Is it prevention is better than cure!!

thanks. Look forward to your views

Jonce

For an import auto I'd rate this as pretty high - certainly before tuning mods.

U should go for it or u'll end up with a fried box like i have

Is that an issue just for autos?

Yes. Just for autos man dont require an oil cooler except for big hp.

UK auto z have bigger oil cooler and stand the heat on the other hand import ones have a small that u have to change

Hmm. I'd better get on to Luke then. Thanks mate

I would say a must just to prolong the life of your box as much as poss, cos heat is normally always the cause of failure.

I have it on my jap auto and I swear you can feel less heat coming up through the transmission now.

Had a local specialist fit one for me (£300) and drain refil box as the first thing i really noticed about this car when i got it was the heat under the bonnet in general, it really gets hot and will kill it, decided to get a specialist do it cos i wanted them to check that the box wasnt already on its last legs and be wasting me money.
