At the weekend I ended up with the Z leaking coolant everywhere, resulting in loads of steam etc. Turns out that one of the two pipes running from the rear of the engine to the bulkhead was leaking. I'm fitting the new pipes tonight, but there could be a problem. The damaged pipe had only a small hole in it (and it was on the other side of the jubilee clip) - but the amount of coolant leaking was huge (It went through a whole radiator full in less than 15 minutes as I plodded home). So, I was wondering if:

a) This has happened to anyone else

b) The heater pipes which come out of the bulkhead could be damaged themselves.

Any ideas greatly appreciated

Sometimes the hole can be so small you can hardly see it, but when the systems under pressure the coolant floods out by the gallon!

That makes sense. Thanks mate, I'll fit the new hoses tonight and see how it goes.

One of my hoses had a small hole in it! I kept loosing my water.

Are you doing the pair?

Yes, I might as well seeing that I'm doing it anyway. Did you end up with a huge amount of steam as well?
