anyone know where the check connector for the steering is

Featured Replies

not sure me self just i have a problem with my steering and looked it up on the repair cd and its sayin use a multimeter to get readings of voltages in the system then refer to manual to see if within limits

its mentioning this check connector

what problems with the steering?

Does the steering keep going stiff? Is your Z an import with a speed converter?

yes it does its an import but the speedo is still in kmh

so what do you reckon on that

Mine is an import with a speed convertor (de-limited in other words?) and my power steering occassionally goes stiff(er). Is this a known problem?

dunno mate all i know is that its a bit of a handful when your cruising the streets with a relaxed one hand on the wheel turnin corners then the the steering goes heavy on ya

Either the speed converter is paying up sending wrong signals to the ECU about your speeds, or the speeds sensor on the gearbox is playing up.

I would say the speed converter/de-limter is the usual culprit with imports which have been converted/de-limited.

Thank god 4 that i thought something drastic had gone wrong , my z started doing that yesterday ,the steering is ok one minute and then goes stiff 4 a while which is a bit scary when overtaking .

How can i sort this ? all advice would be usefull ?

Cheers

Jon

Ps its a jap import and the speedo has been converted ! :hyper:

So a search on Speed Converter. It is a very common problem

how do you know if your car is converted?

Speedometer dials are in mph and the odometer reads in miles?? Doesn't that normally mean they have been de-restricted?
